Two UHaul cars sold for $10,000 in just 24 hours
Three UHauk cars, all rented for less than $10 a day, were sold for a combined $10.4 million in 24 hours, according to data from a dealership and online auction site.
The cars were bought on Feb. 4, and sold Feb. 18, a week later.
The buyers had to pay for the cars in cash, but it was only $10 more than they paid for the vehicles on the market, according the data.
The total price tag for the three cars was $12.6 million, according, the data showed.
The dealership says that the cars are being offered by a company called Kulp Cars, which sells rental cars for about $10 an hour.
The company’s website says that they can be rented for a “one-time” fee, and that they only accept credit cards.
The other cars on the marketplace are listed on the Kulp Car website.
The car-rental company declined to comment.
The sale comes amid a growing trend among Americans to lease cars for longer than the typical 30-day lease period.
In 2017, rental car sales topped $1 billion for the first time, up from $906 million in 2016, according a recent report from the National Association of Realtors.
