How to buy a used car in Sarasota, Fla.
A used car sales specialist in Sarasotas Florida has put his business at risk.
In a video posted to YouTube, Jason Schmitt explains that he has been dealing with cars in the Sarasota area for the past two years and has seen a rise in car sales that he believes is a result of a nationwide car buying frenzy.
“You’ve got all these new vehicles out there, all these cars are getting the attention of buyers.
They’re not being marketed properly,” Schmitt says.
Schmitt says his business has been in the business for over five years, and he has seen an increase in sales in the past few years.
“When I started I was able to get a $1,000, $1.5, $2,000 loan for a used vehicle.
It’s not much anymore,” Schim said.”
I’m getting $20,000 and $30,000 in a month with no interest.”
Schmitt believes a nationwide buyer frenzy is behind the increase in car purchases in the area.
“There’s a lot of hype out there.
People want to buy the latest cars,” he said.
A lot of cars have been selling for more than $25,000.
That’s a pretty big amount of money to be able to purchase a used one in Sarasos.
Schipp says he thinks the national buying frenzy has been a factor.
“The demand has gotten so high, I think that the demand has to be met,” he explained.
Schim says there are several reasons behind the surge in used car purchases, one of which is the Affordable Care Act.
“They’re getting used cars for less money.
I think they want the insurance for it,” he explains.
But the other reason is a state law that requires car dealers to have a car financing program in place, and that is preventing him from selling his used cars.
“It’s not something I could afford to have to do.
I’m not going to get my car fixed if I have to go to a car dealership to get it fixed,” he told ABC News.
But Schmitt believes the situation is more complicated than that.
“This is happening with other states.
In other states it’s a little more complicated,” he added.
Schips job as a used-car dealer in Sarasots market is not safe, but he says he has no plans to leave the business anytime soon.
“At this point I don’t have a problem with it, but I would have to have some kind of a change in the situation,” he stressed.
