How to buy a car with your family
Private car sales are on the rise.
According to a new survey by the National Association of Private Car Dealers, the average number of private car sales per day is rising to a whopping 24,400, the highest number since 2002.
But a new report suggests that if you’re looking to buy the ultimate in private car ownership, the American family may have to start thinking outside the box.
“We have this idea that people are going to do everything for the family, and that they’re going to buy for themselves,” said Mike Smith, president of the National Auto Dealers Association, a trade group for private car dealers.
“But I think a lot of people are actually thinking about what they want to do with their family car and what they don’t want to,” Smith added.
“I think there’s a whole generation of people who are finding the private car market is not really their cup of tea.
They want to have a family car but don’t know how to get it.”
For those who are not ready to take on the big leagues of buying a private car, there’s also a number of options for those who want to buy with their families.
“There’s a lot to consider in terms of what you want to get out of your family car,” Smith said.
“It’s not going to be the most expensive car, but you may not want to spend more than the value of the car.”
